Give a gift of Peace this Christmas

forming a people of God • becoming a global church • growing leaders for the church

Dear Friends:

“Give a Gift for Peace.” This is a timely theme for our Christmas Gift Sampler this year. Christmas is the season when we celebrate the coming of the Prince of Peace. Generosity and Peace are both essential to the message of Christmas. God is generous and we are grateful.

People differ on what the best ways to peace may be. Economic development, conflict resolution, disaster aid, and advocacy for justice are some of the paths that we pursue. These are important ways that we as a society address our desire to live at Peace with one another.

Common to all these paths to peace are people. I believe that that the best path to God’s Shalom for the world is to establish and nurture communities of God’s People whose lives are focused on breaking down all barriers to hostility and violence among races, creeds, nations, genders, and economics, thereby creating one people out of many, through Christ.

This strategy for peace makes peace real. Through this Gift Sampler we invite you to invest in nurturing God’s people, thus encouraging peace to grow. I invite you to be generous: Give a Gift for Peace this Christmas season.
