Learning in China

While China is frequently in the news for its explosive interest in Western lifestyles, what you won’t read much about is the Chinese people’s interest in Christianity. Mennonite Church Canada Witness workers regularly report that there is a giant window of opportunity to address this new interest with a variety of groups – students, farmers, migrant workers, and more. During the cultural revolution of 60 years ago Mennonite missionaries were forced to leave the country. But recent discoveries of groups who sustained their beliefs from earlier Mennonite efforts have revealed a deep hunger for spiritual renewal. Meanwhile, students and pastors are seeking seminary training; others need travel funds to attend seminary. The demand for Sunday School Development Training and theological education for lay leaders is high.
