Congo Sawmill

Last Christmas you helped contribute to the purchase of a mobile sawmill as a means of promoting economic development (for a Mennonite community in Tshikapa) in a country whose people and infrastructure have been ravaged by years of civil war. We are pleased to report that the sawmill was purchased, and made a long and arduous trip over crumbling roads to the Kalonda Church Station in Congo – close to its intended installation site. Now, a business and management plan needs to be developed that will sustain the operation of the mill and market the finished product.
